Blue Angels

It's that time of year again. Beautiful, warm and sunny May. My birthday, Navy graduation and my personal favorite...The Blue Angels. I love watching the F16's fly overhead at Mach 1 or 2, whatever it is they fly. The noise is exhilarating and awe inspiring all at once. Because our house is located just steps away from the Severn River we don't even have to leave our home to enjoy the show. Of course the show is during school hours so the kids get to leave early so they can be apart of the excitement. There was a time when they made Elizabeth cry. As a matter of fact she still uses my United headset when I vacuum because she hates loud noises. However, she loves to watch them and as long as she has her ears protected. We all love watching them doing their acrobatic maneuvers. I couldn't find a recent pic of the Blue Angels but here is Alex with his Blue Angels Kite that he got for birthday back in March. Maybe with my new digital camera I will be able to catch them in mid-flight. Watch for the next post, I might have a good photo.

Ahhh.... Spring in Annapolis. Susan you bring a tear to my eye. I used to live on the Severn River way back when Sarah was born. Our home was right across from the Naval Academy. I remember so well those jets screaming across the skies each May. There were several days of "practice" building up to big show on Graduation Day. Those jets would scream across the sky so low I think the pilots could reach out and touch the Severn Bridge! One of their maneuvers was to fly low to the river and twist. You can just imagine how my house shook and the plates rattled! Amazingly, Sarah slept through the whole exercise! All week. Well, she was only 2 weeks old! Even on the day of the show when we brought her to the river in her stroller, she peacefully slept while the jets roared overhead.

Go Navy!
