The quilt is finally finished.

Elizabeth has been diligently working on her quilt for months now and it's finally
complete. When she was a baby, actually before she was even born, my girlfriend Krista made a quilt for Elizabeth. She loved that quilt to death...literally. It is
in pieces and not nearly as lovely as it once was. That is Elizabeth's way of showing
Krista just how much she loved it. Since then she decided to make a new one. My neighbor and friend Marion volunteered to help and here is the finished product. They used the near identical layout of the original quilt and if I do say so myself, it is lovely. I would post the picture of the original quilt, the day I got it BUT I am also in the photo looking like a little kid. I was actually 29 years old so I guess I can consider that a kid now that I am almost 41...yikes.....Maybe I will post it another time but this is Elizabeth's time in the limelight. She is very proud of her accomplishment, so much so, that she took it to school to show it to her friends and teachers. I just took this photo in our yard, its a lovely 75 degrees and sunny and warm...my kind of day....Happy Easter to all.

Ahhh.... I am flattered. I remember very well making that now old and tattered quilt for little Elizabeth! Do you recall that I also made one for my baby Sarah too? She still uses hers - almost 12 years later, yikes! Though, I have had to make a few emergency stitches to keep it alive all this time!
Brava!!! Elizabeth on your new hobby. I loved to sew and even more to quilt. These days I do it less than before, can you believe that arthritis has set in on these young hands? I know. Keep up the good work and get your mommy to take you for some sewing lessons. Most fabric stores offer some sort of quilting lessons, even for youngins.... It is a hobby that will bring you joy and satisfaction all your life!
