My new wheels!

I am so done with being the mini van mom. That Dodge Caravan was starting to give me a complex. So what to do? You go out and buy a brand new Chrysler Pacifica Touring (another word for a smaller size suv). I have had my eye on this baby since they first came out and today I broke down and bought one. It actually has more options than I needed but the price was right and away I drove. Here I am going from the basic model caravan with manual windows to a fully loaded suv with heated leather seats...front and back...yikes! No I didn't win the lottery...not yet anyway but the sticker price was $33,000 and since it is a 2006 and the 2007's are here and the 2008's are coming soon I got the deal of a lifetime. I am a happy girl and my payments are just a smidge higher than my little ol mini van. Anyone need a great 2003 Dodge Caravan? On sale now for the low Price of $6000..negotiable...The dealer wanted to rip me off on that so I didn't trade it in. Hopefully it will sell soon, 3 car payments are not going to be fun.
Anyway, this is a photo I took off the chrysler website but soon I will take my own pictures of my new baby. The color is the same and you get the idea of what she looks like. Much nicer in real life.
We're going to Italy!

I know Krista is still pulling herself off the floor, but it's true. We are leaving during the kids Spring/Easter break, on or around the 3rd of April. We will be flying non-stop into Rome, visiting the colloseum, Vatican City and all the other famous sites before taking a train north to the Italian Riveria and visiting my girl Krista. She lives in Chiavri, about and hour from Milan and Pisa, so I am sure we will be doing some sight seeing there also. She has only been trying to get me to Italy for about what?? 6 or 7 years??? It's sad when you can fly for nearly free and still take that long to visit one of your best friends. I'm sorry but hey...better late than never huh? After visiting northern Italy we will again take a train and head north...Not sure where to yet. We can fly home from either Zurich, Paris or Munich. They seem to be the closest major cities by train and it gives the kids a chance to see what I saw when I use to live/visit Europe when my family lived there. Stay tuned for the photos from this upcoming vacation.
Oh My God!!! What was I thinking?

Here I am in all my peroxide glory posing on my boyfriends motorcycle..circa 1984.
Holy quacamole! First off, I can't believe that this picture even exists. My sister Robin mailed it to me after she told me she had found some old photos and some really uncharacteristic ones of yours truly. Consider yourselves priveledged that I didn't just burn it. I may still do that actually. Another photo even shows me cooking in our kitchen in Germany with my dads army helmet on my head...I am looking like a bomb might drop through the roof at any minute. Maybe I will post that one too. I am not sure of the date on that photo..maybe around 1987 since Patrick looks about 4 years old on the same picture. That's him with the long hair. Anyway, just wanted to give everyone a good laugh at my expense. Happy Valentines Day!
Fresh off the slopes

As promised, my favorite snow bunny, Alexander! These photos were taken this afternoon. One is of Alex on slopes and the other was taken in the Ski store. It might be hard to see unles you click the picture to make it bigger, but Alex is surrounded by stuffed animals. Not the fake stuffed animals that babies play with but the real thing..including the 2 black bears behind him. Of course there is a whole new post on black bear hunting in Western Maryland, I am going to stay away from that for now. Suffice it to say, some people are not happy with the black bear hunting ban being lifted. Back to my snow bunny...he is back out now for some night skiing. He went with his dad as once again Elizabeth still wont try it. I think I might eventually force the issue because I would like to ski again myself. But for now, I will just enjoy the photos that are sent to me via those beautiful inventions of digital cameras and the internet. Thanks Al Gore! Just kidding.... :)
Elizabeth

Nothing new happening in our world but I love these photo's of Elizabeth and wanted to post them. She is doing what she does everyday...drawing. As I have said numerous times...she is going to be my starving artist. Actually she is very good. Maybe I sould scan a couple of her drawings and post them too. Hmm good idea for a future post. We are getting ready for our mother daughter weekend as Alex and his dad are going away skiing. We are probably flying out to either Chicago or Minnesota, depending on the weather. I would prefer Miami but so would the rest of the world and I go where the crowds the are not.
