Happy 12th Birthday Elizabeth

It's a few days early but we celebrated Elizabeth's birthday today. Monday the 27th we will have a small family celebration to commemorate her big day but for today it was hell on wheels. Actually it was kids on wheels as we partied at the roller rink. Some skate very well, some held the walls and some spent most of the day on the floor but they all had fun. Pizza, drinks, tokens for the arcade, a cash box to collect even more tokens and music. Brought back the memories of my youth when I would go roller skating every Friday night. Did I skate today? Heck no! It's a lot of work being the mom of the birthday girl. Making sure they all have their skates tight enough, enough tokens and enough sugar to send them bouncing back to their parents...haha. All in all Elizabeth had a great day and said it was one of her best parties ever. Thats good enough for me.
Alex and his friend Rowan

Here is Alex and his friend Rowan (from down the street). Alex and Rowan were helping her parents work in the yard and they earned $2.00 per hour. That was just heavenly for Alex as he loves money. I can quarantee that he will be the first Whelan millionaire. He knows money inside and out and never spends a dime, however he will let you borrow it, as long as you pay him back...with interest. Needless to say I wont be borrowing his money anytime soon...:)
This weekend Alex and I are vendors at a local vendor fair where we will be selling my candles. We went this evening to set up our table and display and it looks like a promising weekend. Alex is earning $5.00 per hour. At 6 hours a day for 2 days, I need to really sell some candles. Elizabeth could care less so she will be staying home. No surprise there! She could also care less about money, so one of my children will be destitute while the other a millionaire; Go Figure!
Where do I find the time to keep up with my candle business? I have no clue. With school still full time and my 20 hours a week doing my internship at the airport and working on the side with my friend Christian's business; I am exisiting on very little sleep and yet there are times when I am still bored. Well, I better get to bed, up early for the Vendor Fair. Wish us luck!
Las Vegas Baby!

Well it's been a while but I finally decided to post a few photos of our trip to Vegas. It was a very hot trip (115 degrees F) and I needed a little time to cool down before I documented the trip. We actually had a lot of fun in the hotel but it was just dreadfully oppressive outside. We almost needed a paramedic just walking from one hotel to another. An IV with cool fluids would have been heavenly. I had been to Las vegas 2 other times but never was the weather that brutal. The kids didn't use the outside swimming pool one time. Kinda sad when its too hot to go swimming. My ex-neighbor and friend Carol moved to Las Vegas about 6 years ago and she just loves it there. Great place to visit and lose a coin or 2 but to live there? I don't think so. Miami Beach baby, thats my kinda town!
