Aloha and mahalo!

We just got back from our world travels and boy are we tired. Over 12,000 miles
and 6 plane rides in 10 days is almost too much. We had so much fun in Hawaii...we went to the Honolulu Zoo, we went on a submarine ride (120 feet down and saw sunken ships and airplanes and many colorful fish), we took a class on making flower lei's and basically just enjoyed the beautiful weather and scenery. We were having so much fun we actually stayed an extra day..:) Luck was on our side and we got First Class flying out of Honolulu to San Francisco. I slept but the kids enjoyed the movie and flight attendants catering to them. First class is definitely the way to fly. We got into Las Vegas around 930am and began the 2nd half of our trip, staying at Circus Circus right on the strip on Las Vegas Blvd. This place is crazy, after 4 days I still don't think we saw the whole place. 3 floors of circus acts, theme parks, casinos, 8 restaurants and a mall, not to mention the fact that it also has 3 different towers. We stayed on the 27th floor, yikes, I hate being that high but it was a nice large room and had a great view. I didn't take many Las Vegas pictures but I have over 100 from Hawaii. These 2 photos were both taken in Honolulu. Aloha!
Aloha!

It's that time of the year and instead of our yearly trip to Miami Beach we decided to break from tradition and go all out. First stop...Waikiki Beach in Honolulu, Hawaii. We will be staying at the world famous Outrigger Waikiki right on the beach. Fortunately for us, the Outrigger offers 50% dicount to airline employees. So in that case, we are going for the ocean view, thank you very much. Next stop, Las Vegas, Nevada. We will be staying at the Circus Circus resort and casino. As the name implies, it is a family resort that has an indoor amusement park and live circus acts around the clock. Sounds a little noisy so we opted for the tower suites to help momma with her required noise free sleeping. To add a little fun to our trip, my friend Heather and her son Hunter are meeting us in Las Vegas and we are having side by side rooms and them flying home together. I know that Krista is gonna be upset that I haven't gone to visit her in Italy yet, but, I will, I promise, and my cousin Nancy who now lives in Australia will probably wonder why we don't just pop on over for a visit since Hawaii is so close. Well let me tell you why, this is a spur of the moment decision and with school starting early this year (Aug 28th) we were kinda limited on time. We are leaving on the 15th and wont be back until the night before school starts. Sorry kids but hey, your going to Hawaii!
Braces for Alex

Today was a big day for my little man. He sat very still, with his mouth wide open, for over 2 hours while he had his braces put on. He is doing well and says they dont bother him at all.......yet. He was the lucky of the two of them. His orthodontist said that if he sleeps in his head gear and takes good care of his teeth the braces could come off in about 9 months. Now poor Elzabeth. She had an expander to widen her upper jaw for a year and then braces for 2 years. Now she just had dental surgery to correct her hypoplasty. What is hypoplasty you say? Well it is when you are born without enamel on your teeth..ouch. Now she has to have phase II braces to finish what they couldn't in Phase I. Oh well, they will appreciate their beautiful smiles when they are older.
