Mr. Sleeping Beauty

Awe, Isn't he just precious? When I got up this morning I found Alex sleeping on the couch and had to stop and just watch him sleep for a minute. It is so comforting to see your child relaxing and calm, casually breathing the air so critical for life. When they were babies I would contantly check and make sure they were breathing, as I am sure most parents did and still do. He wasn't thrilled when he saw the photos but I reminded him that I could have easily taken a picture of him in his underwear.
Next victim....Elizabeth =^..^= meow
Oh No! The pig didn't make it.
Yes, thats right, Sam the guinnea pig died either late last night or early this morning. I was holding him last night feeding him a carrot around 10pm and he was fine. This morning he is gone. Fortunatelty the kids, Alex and Elizabeth, are in Ocean City and didn't have to go through yet another pet death. Unfortunately, this was not our pet and I have to let the owners know that he didn't make it through their vacation. They are suppose to be back the beginning of August. So sad. Sam was a lively and very user friendly pig and at least he died knowing he was loved and cared for. Yikes, the down side of pet sitting.
Meet Olivia

This here is sweet little Olivia. She is about 2 weeks old and was found abandoned by some kind sole who took pity on the baby and brought her to a vet, who in turn called my friend Joyce, who in turn called me in desperation to care for this helpless creature. I have to admit that most of the kittens I foster either have a mom to nurse on or they are able to lap from a bowl. This is new and very time consuming but oh so sweet and rewarding....except at 2am.
Elizabeth and Alex both enjoy bottle feeding, as you can see Elizabeth is enjoying playing momma cat. I am sure one day she will make a really excellent mother, as Alanis Morrisette would say...:)
And I'm proud to be an American....

..where at least I know I'm free...and I won't forget the ones who died, and gave that right to me...and I proudly stand up, next to you and defend her still today, cause there ain't no doubt I love this land....GOD Bless the USA!
HAPPY 4TH OF JULY.
